As part of this celebrations commemorating the day 200 years ago when Joseph Haydn (1732/1809) passed away, Barry Smith will conduct the St George's Singers and the Camerata Tinta Barocca (leader Quentin Crida) in a performance of Haydn’s Creation sung in English.

A little further on, you will drive by the intersection to Austwick Road and then pass a Shell garage, all on your left. Handel's Messiah.
Barry Smith conducted the St George's Singers in the first complete South African performance of the work in Cape Town some 44 years ago. Now once again he conducts a rare complete and authentic, small-scale Handelian type performance, the first since 2006. Performing together with the St George's Singers will be three of Cape Town's finest young singers, Lente Louw, Willem Bester, and Aubrey Lodewyk, accompanied by the popular Baroque group, Camerata Tinta Barocca (led by Quentin Crida). The countertenor soloist, Mark Donnelly, hails from Canada and earlier this year sang to critical acclaim in his Cape Town debut in Bach's St Matthew Passion.
